Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Controller to lead our accounting and finance operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the company's financial reporting, accounting processes, cost accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, and financial analysis. This role is responsible for overseeing the company's financial reporting, accounting processes, cost accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is a strategic financial leader who can manage day‑to‑day accounting operations while partnering with executive leadership to improve profitability, streamline processes, and support long‑term business growth. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all accounting and financial reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports. Ensure timely and accurate month‑end close, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, analyze job profitability, and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements. Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and financial performance reports for executive leadership. Oversee inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and banking activities. Manage cash flow, treasury functions, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. Lead ERP implementation, optimization, and process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency. Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Manage sales tax filings, insurance renewals, financial compliance, and other regulatory reporting requirements. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high‑performing and collaborative team environment. Partner with operations and executive leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic business decisions, budgeting, and long‑term growth initiatives. Support capital planning, business expansion, acquisitions, and investment strategies as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month‑end/year‑end close processes. Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and job costing. Hands‑on experience with ERP systems and financial software. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis. Experience managing internal controls and preparing for external audits. Working knowledge of sales tax, regulatory compliance, and accounting best practices. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills. Preferred Qualifications CPA or CMA certification is a plus. Experience in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, distribution, construction, or industrial environments. Experience leading ERP implementation or system optimization projects. Knowledge of financial process improvement and business performance metrics.
