Job Summary

All IT Solutions is seeking a Lead Oracle Database Administrator to join a client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Need cloud exposure (exp migrating databases to the cloud), does not care what cloud exp they have, their environment is AWS and GCP.
• Looking for someone who can be a technical adviser for software, services, etc. and help them decide what to and what not to use
• Creates and maintains databases for test, development and production environments.
• Analyzes, tests, and implements physical database design.
• Documents environment and maintains current patches.
• Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and space requirements for physical database are met through formulation and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
• Audits the current environments, provides capacity planning and best practices for the future production/development/test environments, which may include establishing new standards and procedures.
• Conducts performance assessment and tuning as related to the database system.
• Database Administration & Monitoring: Oversee the day-to-day administration, health, and proactive monitoring of critical Oracle production databases to ensure maximum uptime
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and foster the professional growth of junior team members, establishing best practices for database administration
• Deployment & Change Management: Partner with application teams to orchestrate database deployments, author comprehensive -Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and manage change tickets
• Business Continuity: Quickly integrate into the team to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities and safeguard critical application infrastructure
• Proactive Maintenance: Analyze daily health check reports to identify and remediate potential anomalies before they impact production environments
• Incident Management: Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and join production bridge lines to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in real time
• Operational Handovers: Attend morning and evening handover meetings to ensure seamless 24/7 operational continuity and knowledge sharing
• Release & Patch Coordination: Collaborate with application developers and stakeholders to plan database patching cycles, execute changes, and manage risk

Required Qualifications

• Also need departmental budgeting exp and 3 year outlook planning and roadmapping exp.
• Provides technical knowledge working with system administrators, technical managers, developers, and architects. 10+ years of experience
