Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a Short Term Acute Care hospital with 379 staffed beds
• Level II Trauma Center environment
• Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend requirement of a minimum of 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week period
• Block scheduling required, approved based on unit need
• Floating between units required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 48-hour work weeks approved
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (OCN preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, AKI, and renal failure management preferred
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12 lead EKG/ECG

• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as permanent, travel, registry, or per-diem staff
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be granted
