Job DescriptionJob DescriptionHR GeneralistLocation: Yakima, WAJob Type: Full-TimeIndustry: Food Manufacturing / IngredientsEnjoy the people side of HR, especially the part where no two conversations are ever quite the same?We’re hiring an HR Generalist to support a busy manufacturing operation in Yakima, with a strong focus on employee relations, leave administration, workplace investigations, attendance, policy guidance, and day-to-day employee support.This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable being visible on the floor, building trust with employees and leaders, working through sensitive situations, and helping keep the workplace fair, consistent, and moving in the right direction.What You’ll DoServe as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors across the facilityAssist with employee relations questions, concerns, complaints, and workplace issuesSupport and participate in employee investigations, including gathering information, documenting findings, and helping determine appropriate next stepsPartner with managers on performance concerns, attendance issues, corrective action, and policy interpretationAdminister and track employee leaves, including FMLA, state leave programs, disability, and other applicable leave requestsCommunicate with employees regarding leave eligibility, documentation, return-to-work requirements, and available resourcesHelp ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practicesMaintain clear, accurate, and confidential employee documentationSupport accommodation discussions and the interactive process when appropriateAssist with benefits questions, employee records, HR systems, and general employee supportHelp identify employee trends, recurring concerns, and opportunities to improve retention and the overall employee experiencePartner closely with plant leadership to address workforce issues before they become bigger problemsSupport recruiting and onboarding as needed, while keeping the primary focus on the existing workforceWhat We’re Looking ForPrevious experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Employee Relations Specialist, or similar HR professionalStrong hands-on experience with employee relations and workplace investigationsExperience administering or supporting FMLA, state leave, disability, and other employee leave programsComfortable navigating sensitive employee situations with professionalism and sound judgmentWorking knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, attendance practices, and corrective-action processesExperience supporting hourly employees in manufacturing, food production, agriculture, distribution, warehouse, or another high-volume environment is strongly preferredStrong documentation, communication, and follow-throughAbility to build trust with employees while still supporting company policies and business needsComfortable working directly with frontline supervisors and plant leadershipHRIS experience is helpfulSHRM or HRCI certification is a plus, but not requiredWhy You’ll Like It HereThis is a true people-facing HR role.You’ll spend your time helping employees navigate real workplace issues, coaching leaders through difficult situations, managing leave cases, supporting investigations, and making sure employees feel heard while policies are applied fairly and consistently.If you’re the person people naturally come to when something needs to be worked through calmly, thoughtfully, and correctly, we’d love to hear from you.Ready to be the steady hand behind the people side of the operation?
