Relationship Banker

Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.42 The role of the Relationship Banker is to deliver high quality customer service and responsiveness while providing consultative service to meet both internal and external customers’ needs. The incumbent will process moderate to complex transactions accurately in accordance with policy, open and process all new deposit account types and consumer lending transactions, educate customers, and refer & cross‑sell appropriate products and services. Interaction may occur in person or over the telephone. Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum one year experience in related banking positions preferred Previous customer service, sales and consumer lending experience preferred Skills and Abilities Proficient reading, writing, communication and mathematical skills Basic knowledge of Decision Pro, Loan‑to‑Value and Debt‑to‑Income calculations, and reading credit reports Ability to identify and analyze situations and/or information using certain criteria and resolve issues and problems Ability to approach, identify, and conduct in‑depth conversations with customers to identify needs and opportunities Organizational, interpersonal and customer relations skills including problem solving and decision making Ability to function in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment and work well with people as a team Proficient computer skills Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements Gain full knowledge of consumer lending in preparation for NMLS Certification under the S. A. F. E. Act of 2008 and become familiar with approval requirements. (Ability to obtain NMLS Certification is preferred but not required) Tasks Performed 45% Process daily transactions and associated general customer and account servicing duties with a high level of accuracy and efficiency, including routine and non‑routine teller transactions in accordance with policy and procedures; perform various administrative duties such as maintaining records, preparing forms, reports, daily vault balancing, and completing the branch audit. Adhere to security measures and controls to minimize potential losses. Provide system overrides as required at the discretion of the Branch and Market Manager. 45% Provide consultative customer service to ensure a clear understanding of customer needs versus wants, deliver viable solutions, and engage in referral and relationship management. Provide services to customers, including deposit account opening, consumer lending transactions, and referrals to appropriate business partners. Possess working knowledge of lending, including discussion of credit reports and scores. Conduct sales and service calls to existing and potential customers to meet needs and prospect new leads. Take ownership to resolve customer issues and complaints while delivering a high level of responsiveness. 5% Participate in community events that support the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). 5% Perform other duties as assigned, which may include providing guidance and conducting training for other employees.
