Director of Supply Chain

Director of Supply Chain Our manufacturing client is seeking a proven leader to take the helm of supply chain operations. Responsibilities Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop team members within the supply chain department. Oversee daily workflows, priorities, and scheduling to ensure operational efficiency. Provide clear, timely, and constructive performance feedback and evaluations. Address performance issues, discipline, and employee separations in alignment with company policies. Lead and mentor a supply chain team spanning procurement, logistics, and inventory management. Drive strategic supply chain initiatives aligned with overall business objectives. Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Production to ensure material availability and on‑time delivery. Support sales and estimating efforts by providing accurate material costs and lead times for new quotes. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate agreements, and proactively resolve vendor performance issues. Leverage ERP systems (JobBOSS preferred, not required) and data‑driven insights to optimize supply chain efficiency. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Track supply chain KPIs and continuously identify opportunities for improvement. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience in aerospace, defense, or similar highly regulated manufacturing environments. Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems with a data‑first management approach. Strategic mindset paired with a hands‑on leadership style—this is a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves role. Excellent communication, vendor negotiation, and cross‑functional leadership skills. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 5+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including leadership roles within a manufacturing environment. Job shop experience strongly preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods and stand as needed during meetings or operational tasks.
