Pharmacy Tech II

This is a part-time position working up to 20 hours per week. The Pharmacy Technician 2 is accountable for assisting pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications for patient administration. The Technician 2 functions in all aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. All assigned activities are performed under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

What You Will Do:

• Accurate preparation of patient medications including non-sterile products and sterile products (including chemotherapy and TPN).
• Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications.
• Inventories, replenishes, and maintains drug stock.
• Orients and trains new staff.

Qualifications:

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program. (Preferred)
• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting. (Preferred)
• Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts. (Required proficiency)
• Good communication skills are essential. (Required proficiency)
• Knowledge of personal computer, calculator, facsimile machine. (Required proficiency)
• Basic knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing cabinets. (Preferred proficiency)
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) State of Ohio CPhT license (Required)
