Medical Staff Coordinator

The Medical Staff Coordinator conducts Medical Staff Services departmental responsibilities/duties (credentialing, privileging, & other Medical & Dental Staff matters) in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Medical and Dental Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations for Cone Health), as well as state, federal, and regulatory requirements. This role provides administrative support to the Medical and Dental Staff leaders.

Essential Job Function:

• Coordinates Medical, Dental and Allied Staff credentialing & privileging process for both initial appointments and reappointments.
• Helps oversee the credentialing process to ensure both initial appointments & reappointments are completed timely & accurately.
• Supports the credentialing process & follows-up according to established Departmental metrics in order to expedite the processes, ensuring that customer & organization needs are met & regulatory risks are avoided, bringing in more senior staff if needed.
• Processes initial applications and Service peer review committee agendas accurately & timely.
• Provides administrative support to the Medical and Dental Staff leaders, Hospital leadership/administration, and fellow Medical Staff Services Team members.
• Assists in coordination and planning of special events for the Medical and Dental Staff to include the Annual Staff meeting, General Medical Staff meetings, and Doctors' Day event(s).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
