Real Estate Development Intern

Our Pre-Construction Internship gives you more than just a front‑row seat; it puts you in the driver’s seat of some of the most exciting commercial real estate projects around. From site due diligence to construction kick off, you’ll work on hands‑on projects that shape shopping centers and retail developments across the nation. Under the mentorship of seasoned industry professionals, you’ll gain valuable insights, sharpen your skills, and directly impact the success of our projects. Responsibilities Assist with market research and assist in site due diligence, helping identify prime locations for development. Assist with researching government fees and construction costs for proforma analyses to support project feasibility. Attend development meetings and document key discussions, enhancing your industry knowledge. Maintain and update Smartsheet and Excel databases, keeping project information organized and accessible. Work closely with construction managers to assist with take-offs and estimates. Process and track invoices, ensuring timely payments and financial accuracy. Collaborate closely with project managers and construction managers on tracking outstanding invoices and project updates. Provide administrative support, including document preparation and file management. Research industry partners such as 3rd party firms and general contracting firms. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Construction, or a related field. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present information clearly and professionally. Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also excelling in a team setting. A genuine passion for real estate development and a proactive desire to learn the business. Technical Requirements Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Bluebeam or related take off software. Experience with Smartsheet is an advantage. Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week at our Phoenix office, with the opportunity for additional hours. Preferred commitment of at least two semesters, allowing you to gain a deep, hands‑on understanding of the industry.
