Seeking a Veterinary Assistant - $500 Signing Bonus Opportunity!

Located just 5 miles from the beaches of the Jersey Shore, VCA Toms River Animal Hospital is a 7 doctor general practice offering wellness and sick care, digital radiography including dental x-rays, surgery, FAST ultrasound, rehabilitation and laser therapy, acupuncture, in-house bloodwork, and hospitalization. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team full time. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care-with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.

The pay range for this position is $17-$25/hr

As a member of VCA Toms River, you will support technician and doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent-by delivering an outstanding client experience-so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• Assisting Veterinarians with appointments

• Assisting Veterinarians with surgeries and anesthetic dentistry

• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging

• Maintaining medical records

• Filling prescriptions

• Providing compassionate care and a "home away from home" for hospitalized pets

• Providing exceptional customer service for our clients

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as a veterinary technician/assistant is required; credentialed (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred but not required

• Experience in emergency medicine, surgery, and dentistry

• A positive, encouraging and supportive attitude

• Excellent communication skills

• Flexibility in hours including (but not limited to) evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Willingness and capability to be cross-trained in reception and kennel

• Working knowledge of computers

• Team player mindset, willing to learn new techniques and treatments
