The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.Vast is looking for a Master Scheduler, reporting to the Staff Technical Project Manager, Satellites, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, (exempt) position located in our (Long Beach) location.As Vast expands into high-power satellite buses, we need the schedule infrastructure to match our ambitions. This role is the single accountable owner for the Integrated Master Schedule — from winning new work with credible proposal schedules, to tracking every subsystem's commitments week over week and calling risks before they slip. You'll sit at the intersection of engineering and program management, keeping a fast-moving team honest and on track.Responsibilities:Develop, baseline, and maintain the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) across all satellite subsystems and program phasesOwn schedule development for proposals — build credible, bottoms-up schedules tied to the WBS and basis of estimateFacilitate weekly schedule status meetings with all engineering subsystems; track commitments and flag deviations to program leadershipPerform critical path analysis, schedule margin tracking, and near-term look-ahead reportingIdentify, document, and report schedule risks and opportunities; support mitigation planning with subsystem ownersMaintain schedule baseline change control and manage variance analysisCoordinate with supply chain on long-lead hardware and vendor schedule integrationSupport program reviews (PDR, CDR, MRR) with schedule artifacts and trend analysisDevelop and standardize repeatable scheduling processes and proposal templates as the program scalesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field5+ years of experience developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules on hardware development programsProficiency in Smartsheet or Microsoft ProjectDemonstrated experience developing proposal schedules and running schedule status cadences with engineering teamsStrong critical path analysis and schedule risk assessment skillsPreferred Skills & Experience:PMP or PMI-SP certificationExperience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)Background in aerospace, defense, or spacecraft hardware programsFamiliarity with satellite subsystems (avionics, structures, propulsion, thermal, power)Experience with schedule risk analysis tools (Safran, Oracle Risk Analysis)Track record of building scheduling processes at an early-stage or scaling aerospace companyCommunication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customersLogical and strategic approach to solving problemsComfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.Additional Requirements:Willingness to work on-site in Long Beach with occasional travel to suppliers or partner sitesAbility to work extended hours to support proposal deadlines or program milestonesPay Range: California$129,301 - $155,161 USDBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
