Job Description SUMMARY : Reporting to the Director of Dreamscape Learn (DSL) at MontclairState University, the Dreamscape Learn Pod Coordinator coordinatesthe operational use and deployment of the Dreamscape Learn Studio,ensuring users have safe and meaningful learning experiences andoptimizing studio operations. The Pod Operations Coordinator workscollaboratively with members of the Dreamscape Learn team, notablythe Director, as well as faculty, staff, and student users of theStudio. The Pod Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in deliveringimmersive Dreamscape Learn experiences to the student populationwhile supporting operational excellence and delivering outstandingcustomer service. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Coordinating daily operations of Dreamscape Learn immersivespaces, ensuring impactful and engaging learning experiences. Recruit, hire, train, mentor, supervise, schedule, and coach ateam of student employee operators. Provide guests with historical context on Dreamscape Learn andguide them through the VR experience from start to finish. Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring all guests havea positive and memorable experience. Serve as the lead in checking users into their experiences,ensuring equipment is functioning correctly, overseeing eachsession, and managing equipment during and in between learningsessions. Troubleshoot VR equipment issues and escalate to the DSLTechnical Support Help Desk when needed. Replace defective hardware and manage the Return MerchandiseAuthorization (RMA) process with external vendors. Conduct regular testing, maintenance, and calibration ofDreamscape Learn VR pods and related equipment. Assist students and faculty in leveraging Dreamscape Learntechnology for VR development projects and other academicinitiatives. Maintain the Dreamscape Learn scheduling system, ensuringefficient utilization and throughput. Oversee facility operations, ensuring proper opening andclosing procedures. Maintain adherence to cleaning and safety protocols inalignment with university standards. Maintain current knowledge in technological aspects ofDreamscape VR Develop and conduct training and materials for students,faculty and staff. Collaborate with Broadcast and Media Operations throughout theyear on select projects and at designated times. Perform other duties as assigned. Management retains the right to add or change job duties at anytime. QUALIFICATIONS : REQUIRED : Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university inmedia, education, technology, or a related field. Minimum of two years of relevant experience in operations,customer service, academic support, or a technology-enabledenvironment Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with theability to engage diverse student, faculty, and guestpopulations Experience coordinating schedules, managing logistics, oroverseeing daily operations in a fast-paced environment Technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoothardware/software issues in real time Ability to learn and operate virtual reality (VR) systems andrelated technologies Strong organizational skills with attention to detail andability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Excellent communication skills. Ability to enforce safety, operational, and facility protocolsconsistently and professionally Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings orweekends, based on academic scheduling needs PREFERRED : Prior experience working with virtual reality (VR), augmentedreality (AR), gaming systems, or immersive technologies Experience in a university lab, studio, experiential learningenvironment, or similar setting Demonstrated experience supervising, training, or mentoringstaff, student employees, or teams Familiarity with scheduling systems, ticketing systems, orlab/resource management platforms Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance, inventory management,and vendor coordination (e.g., RMAs) Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume user environmentswhile maintaining quality service Interest in immersive learning, experiential education, orinnovation in higher education Experience collecting feedback or basic data to improveoperations and user experience PROCEDURE FOR CANDIDACY Applicants should include a resume and cover letter describing howtheir background, skills and education match the needs of theUniversity.
