Accounting PositionBenefits: Company parties, competitive salary, dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, vision insurancePosition PurposeResponsible for implementing approved accounting practices and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and grant invoicing/billing functions, including cash receipts, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and grant management.Key Responsibilities:Process payroll and gather the necessary informationPrepare invoicesReport all necessary 1099's for STF and ARM at year-endProcess accounts payableProcess accounts receivableGenerate reports for internal useCompile figures to assist staff in preparing agency grant requests and contractsAssemble work papers for the annual auditPrepare and submit all required reports and monitoring activities in a timely and accurate manner.Adhere to all behavioral general competenciesAdhere to STF and ARM policies and proceduresMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accountancy and three years (3) of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and six years (6) of relevant experience in accounting including:Not-for-profit experience, highly preferredPayroll processingAccounting systems management, highly proficient with (Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT), preferredAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsDaily management of the general ledgerMonth-end close proceduresGrant management, billing and related reportsExtensive accounts payable and accounts receivable experienceMaintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.Financial reportingAudit preparationBalance sheet reconciliationsEffective internal controlsOther Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:A demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Save the Family Foundation of ArizonaExcellent verbal, written and public presentation communication skillsSelf-starter with excellent time management skillsMaintain strict confidentialityProfessional in manner and appearanceConsistently organized and flexibleStrong analytical experience and ability to handle data effectivelyDemonstrate cultural competence, treat everyone with dignity, celebrate the diversity of our community, and be inclusive of all people in our community.Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills, including conflict resolutionPossess a valid Arizona driver's license, clean driving record and personal vehicle insurance coverage21 years of age or older for liability insurance requirements.Must obtain a fingerprint clearance card through the State of ArizonaEligible to work in the United States of AmericaAbility to work in office M - F (8:00 am - 5:00 pm)Note: This job description identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance. Once housed, Case Managers help parents set and achieve goals geared toward ensuring the family's long-term housing and financial stability, which often can include securing employment, moving up in the workplace, improving financial literacy, building life-skills, and mental health. The Case Manager helps the family through their entire journey to housing and self-sufficiency.Our supportive services compliment each family's goals and include career services, budgeting classes, parenting classes, other life-skills classes, and access to in-house mental health support. We also provide multiple supportive services to the children in our programs – all focused on halting cycles of homelessness and poverty. Supportive services are also available to families residing in ARM (Affordable Rental Movement) of Save the Family's affordable housing program.
