Social Media Intern - New York City

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Social Media Intern to join our Corporate Marketing Team and help elevate Prophet’s messaging across our social media channels. This role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career marketing or creative professional to apply strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and a data-driven mindset to support our growing marketing operation. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Associate and is based in our New York office, where you’ll collaborate directly with the team and gain hands-on marketing experience. What You Will Do Develop and maintain monthly social media editorial calendars for LinkedIn, Instagram and other priority platforms Draft persuasive brand-aligned social copy that reflects Prophet’s tone of voice Coordinate with the marketing designers to evolve and amplify brand design across social channels Support the creation of social-first content, including posts, carousels, quote cards, and executive commentary Assist Prophet’s executive leadership team in building their presence as industry voices on LinkedIn, Medium, and other relevant media channels Monitor brand mentions, industry conversations, and cultural trends through social listening Identify opportunities for Prophet’s perspective to contribute to timely, strategic conversations Track campaign and content performance, analyze results, and compile monthly reports with key trends and insights Support community engagement by monitoring comments, messages, and mentions Maintain content libraries, publishing calendars, and reporting trackers Explore and apply AI tools to generate content ideas, draft copy ensuring all work is aligned with Prophet’s voice, quality standards, and strategic goals What We're Looking For Current student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field 2-4 years of experience in digital marketing Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail, familiarity with AP style Interest in social media, content strategy, branding, and digital communications Familiarity with LinkedIn and other major social media platforms Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities Comfort working with data and learning how to interpret social performance metrics Collaborative mindset and the ability to work across teams Strong presentation skills and communication skills; ability to contribute to manager-level conversations Fast learner; self-starter; strategic, data-driven, organized, and creative Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, social scheduling tools, or analytics platforms is a plus. Proficiency with Google Analytics, data gathering analysis 10-15 hours per week availability Must be available to be in the New York office (Flatiron/USQ neighborhood) Salary: $25/hour Prophet is an equal opportunity employer.
