Structural Technologies is the single source for VSL products and technical support in the United States - which have been used throughout the world since 1956 to build, repair and strengthen bridges, buildings, tanks, and special structures.VSL Civil is currently recruiting for a CAD Technician to join our team. As a CAD Technician, you will be accountable for preparing complex drawings of structures and equipment systems.This role can be seated at any of our current branch locations which includes the following.* Manassas, VA* Fort Worth, TXThe successful candidate will also be responsible for:* Drafting project and mechanical system drawings derived from layouts and sketches* Establishing and following technical specifications to prepare drawings and draft designs* Consulting with engineers regarding model accuracy and coordinate with shop team for material deliveries to job-sites* Determining material needs, performing necessary calculations, and tracking all material quantitiesCandidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position:* 3-7 years experience with AutoCAD, preferably structural concrete drawings* Demonstrated ability to read and understand structural drawings* Strong communication skills, able to correspond well with Engineers and Clients* Able to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment* Candidates who are proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, SolidWorks, BIM/Revit, and MS Office Suite may be given preference* Travel nationally 5-10%Our ideal candidate is an innovative but decisive leader who can work effectively in a highly collaborative, team-based environment; has the ability to set goals and expectations and hold others accountable; can encourage and mentor others; is approachable, empathetic and outgoing; can quickly gain trust and respect; and is able to establish and maintain relationships.*We anticipate pay for this role between $28-28/hour based off education, experience, and location.*STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES/VSL is proud of a company culture that promotes 24/7 safety and quality.
