Accountant

US Department of War

DutiesIncumbent typical work assignments may include the following:Advise senior leadership on the application of financial management theories, concepts, principles, and standards related to the development, execution, and maintenance of strategic and operational plans.Evaluate and communicate key metrics to implement action items for process improvement. Develops new strategies to solve difficult accounting and reporting system problems.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and accounting reports. Analyze audit reports, management reports, and other indicators to identify areas for future process improvement.Takes necessary actions to ensure WHS accounting procedures follow DOW general ledger requirements, including property accounting, accrual accounting, and the key accounting requirements presented by DFAS in its annual Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) certification guidance.
