Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Call: None
Setting: Approximately 90% Outpatient / 10% Inpatient

Position Overview

HPA Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a short-term locum tenens opportunity in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

The physician will primarily provide outpatient Hematology/Oncology care with limited inpatient consultation responsibilities. This is an attractive short-term assignment offering a consistent weekday schedule with no call, no code response and no Emergency Department backup responsibilities .

Limited inpatient consultation/rounding

Bone marrow biopsies
Established regional cancer program
Hospital privileges required

Responsibilities

Provide screening, evaluation and treatment of Hematology/Oncology patients in an ambulatory setting, manage appropriate treatment plans and ongoing cancer care, perform bone marrow biopsies, and provide consultation for hospitalized patients requiring Hematology/Oncology expertise.

Requirements

MD or DO
Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
Appropriate North Carolina medical license
DEA as required
Ability to obtain hospital privileges
Proficiency with bone marrow biopsies
Outpatient Hematology/Oncology experience
Comfortable providing inpatient consultation
Availability for the requested November coverage
