Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Profession: Registered Nurse

Specialty: Operating Room

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Variable Shift/PM Shift

Hours per Shift: 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM, On Call every 6 weeks with 2-3 shifts during weekdays and 1-2, 12-hour shifts

Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience

License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice is required

Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required

Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred

Description:
Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
Collects relevant data pertinent to the patients' health or situation.
Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes.
Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.
Collaborates with the team, including patient, family, and healthcare providers to provide patient care in a safe and caring environment.
Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
Directly provides health information to patients and their families.
Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Complies with safety and well-being requirements of associates and patients.
Receives all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.
Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
Participation in E-Verify is required.
Special procedures performed include various minimally invasive surgeries.
Staff may come in with street clothes or scrubs but need to change into surgical scrubs on unit.
