Dispatch CoordinatorPosition is typically dedicated to a Dispatcher who exhibits exemplary dispatch skills within an account or location, with the intent to take on more responsibility. The incumbent ensures that productivity and operational goals are met in order to deliver customer satisfaction. Individual will be working in a dynamic environment that focuses on delivering continuous measurable improvement to the customer.Essential Functions :Serves as a Lead Dispatchers to help guide/answer any questions throughout the course of the shiftAddresses any customer issues and/or provides resolution to problems that are within the scope of work, otherwise engages management for helpBackfills for dispatchers when neededResponsible for ensuring any and all necessary forms used for the day-to-day operations are filled out completely and accuratelyProvides training for all new hires and/or any additional training needed for current staffMonitors and advises management if functional, productivity goals and objectives are not being metAdditional Responsibilities :Performs other duties as assigned.Skills and Abilities :Excellent oral and written communication and follow up skillsAbility to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)Ability to work independently and as member of a teamFlexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environmentCapable of multi-tasking, highly organized with strong time management skillsDetail oriented with excellent follow-up practicesKnowledge in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch) advanced preferredKnowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems advanced preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office intermediate preferredQualifications :H.S. diploma/GED required High School Diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years or more Experience with DOT, and driver routing with minimum of 2 years experience in Logistics and/or Transportation preferredKnowledge in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch) advanced preferredKnowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems advanced preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office intermediate preferredTravel: NoneJob Category: TransportationOur Culture & Commitment: At Ryder, you're trusted to make an impact—while enjoying room to grow and having a voice that's heard.
