Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant with strong expertise in SAP MM, WM, and S/4HANA to support enterprise SAP initiatives in an Agile/PI Planning delivery environment. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into functional SAP solutions, collaborate with technical teams, and own backlog items through testing and production deployment.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of standard SAP MM functionality, hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience, and the ability to evaluate existing customizations and recommend simplified, sustainable solutions aligned with SAP Clean Core principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile/PI Planning activities and independently manage assigned backlog items.
• Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP functional solutions.
• Perform functional analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, and production support.
• Provide expert-level guidance on SAP MM procurement and inventory management processes.
• Support SAP WM and warehouse-related business processes.
• Analyze existing SAP customizations and identify opportunities to leverage standard SAP functionality.
• Recommend simplification and sustainable solutions in alignment with SAP Clean Core principles.
• Collaborate with ABAP developers, architects, integration teams, and other technical resources to deliver solutions.
• Develop functional specifications and functional design documents as required.
• Perform end-to-end functional testing, including integration and user acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot functional issues and provide root-cause analysis and resolution recommendations.
• Own assigned workstreams from requirements gathering through testing, deployment, and production stabilization.
• Facilitate discussions with business process owners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful solution delivery.
• Identify downstream impacts of proposed changes across procurement, inventory, warehouse, and supply chain processes.
• Proactively communicate status, risks, dependencies, and issues to project and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

SAP MM - Procurement & Inventory Management

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP MM experience.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Purchase Requisitions (PR)
  • Purchase Orders (PO)
  • Goods Receipt (GR)
  • Invoice Verification
  • Release Strategies
  • Inventory Management
  • Goods Movements
  • Procurement processes
  • Source-to-Receipt / Procure-to-Pay processes
• Deep understanding of standard SAP MM configuration and functionality.
• Ability to assess heavily customized SAP environments and recommend standard or simplified SAP solutions.
• Strong understanding of configuration dependencies and downstream business impacts.

SAP S/4HANA / RISE

• 3+ years of hands-on SAP S/4HANA functional experience.
• Practical experience working with SAP S/4HANA, preferably in a RISE environment.
• Understanding of key differences between SAP ECC and S/4HANA within MM and supply chain processes.
• Experience with SAP Fiori applications and S/4HANA-specific process changes.
• Strong understanding of modern S/4HANA architecture and functional capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively in an S/4HANA environment from day one.

Procure-to-Pay / Source-to-Receipt

• 7+ years of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay experience.
• Strong understanding of the complete procurement lifecycle, including:
  • Purchase Requisition
  • Purchase Order
  • Goods Receipt
  • Inventory Management
  • Invoice Verification
• Ability to identify process gaps and design solutions across the complete business process.
• Understanding of how changes in procurement impact downstream supply chain and warehouse processes.

Functional Analysis & Stakeholder Management

• Strong requirements gathering and functional analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to facilitate requirements and solution discussions with business process owners.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear functional solutions.
• Ability to constructively challenge requirements or proposed solutions when a more sustainable approach is appropriate.

Independent Execution

• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
• Ability to take ownership of assigned backlog items from requirements through production.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of SAP MM experience.
• 7+ years of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay experience.
• 3+ years of SAP S/4HANA experience.
• SAP WM experience required; SAP EWM experience is a plus.
• Strong experience working with business stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams.
