Steel Project Manager

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee structural steel erection projects from pre-construction through final completion. This individual will be responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, field coordination, and client communication while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, heavy commercial construction, or industrial construction environments and possess strong leadership and problem‑solving skills. Responsibilities Manage structural steel erection projects from kickoff through closeout Coordinate with general contractors, fabricators, engineers, detailers, and field teams Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and manpower projections Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and material procurement Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements Conduct project meetings and maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership Support field operations and assist with site logistics/planning as needed Qualifications Project Management experience in steel fabrication, steel erection, or miscellaneous metals Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes Experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, mission‑critical, or data center projects preferred Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Experience with scheduling software and project management platforms Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required Preferred Backgrounds Candidates with experience from the following industries are encouraged to apply: Why Join Strong safety-focused culture Opportunity to work on complex, high-profile builds Collaborative team environment Long-term growth opportunities within a respected steel contractor #J-18808-Ljbffr Lumicity
