Job Summary The Direct Support Professional works on an interdisciplinary team that delivers superior quality of service and provides appropriate activities in a safe and healthy environment within the home and community setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks, including showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, preparing and planning meals, and financial budgeting. Provides transportation to and from activities and appointments; a valid Arkansas Driver's License is required. Maintains good communication via appropriate means (facility logbook, staff meetings, etc.) regarding clients’ needs and progress toward their plan of care by the end of the shift. Accurately completes all documentation required by FCC, such as behavioral reports, incident reports, compliance forms, personal care worksheets, requisitions, maintenance forms, progress reports, monthly attendance logs, and other required documentation. Strictly follows and completes necessary documentation and maintenance of records for FTA vehicles, maintaining all mileage/billing forms in compliance with Medicaid guidelines. Reports incidents and/or emergencies to supervisors or delegated authorities immediately; this is a safety‑sensitive position. Assists in the formulation, management, revision, and follow‑through of the client’s plan of care, ensuring treatment is carried out and good health, safety, and security are prioritized. Follows proper medication management guidelines and assists in monitoring and documentation of these procedures. Organizes and carries out recreational activities for the clients. Exhibits good role modeling for clients through appropriate physical appearance, adherence to FCC’s dress code, and appropriate actions. Treats clients and their families with dignity and respect; represents FCC’s mission in all actions. Assists in maintenance of FCC facilities and grounds, keeping them clean, orderly, and functioning. Assists in maintenance of FCC vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and preventive maintenance. Attends necessary training and continues education. Provides proof of liability insurance and keeps it current. Might be required to undergo periodic driving tests and demonstrate proficiency in operating a motor vehicle, including passenger vans; may use personal vehicles at times, maintaining adequate liability coverage. Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding company and clients, complying with confidentiality policies and HIPAA. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; or 2+ years’ experience working with developmentally disabled individuals. Valid driver's license. Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence; present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group situations. Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers; compute rates, ratios, percentages; interpret bar graphs. Reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form. Physical demands: use hands, talk, hear; stand, walk, reach, sit; lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; specific vision abilities (color, depth, focus).
