Heavy Equipment Mechanic

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for safely and effectively repairing and servicing numerous types of heavy equipment and vehicles in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Primary duties include:

• Ensuring that safe practices are followed in all aspects of daily activities
• Diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately the first time
• Reading schematics, diagrams, blueprints, etc. to assist with repairs and/or diagnostics
• Diagnosing complex electric, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
• Removing, replacing, and repairing major components on all types of heavy construction, dirt moving, and rock crushing equipment
• Performing routine services on heavy equipment
• Performing on-site repairs in the field as needed in a fast-paced environment
• Occasionally required weekend and night work
• Travel will be required
• Performing other duties as assigned

Background requirements include:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid Class A or B CDL
• Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
• Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy is required
• Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, and rain
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicles and heavy equipment repair
• Detail oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently in a high-pressure environment with minimal or no guidance
• Significant training in the mechanical field
• Basic computer skills (Email, Smart Phone, Excel)
• Impeccable communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and backgrounds
