Job Summary:
The operating room open heart (OR OH) registered nurse position is located in Burlington, Vermont. This assignment involves working in a large, academic, teaching hospital setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role primarily involves circulating and scrubbing for cardiovascular and open heart surgeries, with the possibility of floating to other operating room suites as needed. The assignment duration is from June 29, 2026, with a schedule of rotating day and evening shifts, and candidates must be flexible to meet patient care needs.

Job Details:

• Location: Burlington, Vermont
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3-12 days (0645-1915), with one or two 12-hour weekday calls (1900-0715) and one full weekend of call every 5 weeks. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • BLS certification required
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Must have general experience in the operating room
  • A minimum of 2 years OR RN experience with recent and high competency in cardiovascular/open heart surgeries
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Must be able to scrub on heart cases
  • Large hospital experience (500+ beds), academic, teaching experience required
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system within the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable
  • Must be flexible to float to other OR suites (general, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, etc.), circulating but not scrubbing in floated cases
• Additional Information:
  • IVS to offer
  • No block schedules allowed
  • Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays, next scheduled for 7/13
  • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
  • Complete work history details including bed count, electronic medical record, and facility type are required for submission
• Float: Float rotation may be required
