Step into a rewarding role making a direct impact on elementary-aged students as a full-time contract Special Education Teacher near Grass Valley, CA! This opportunity spans the entire 2026-2027 school year, supporting a small, close-knit class in a resourceful and collaborative environment. The assignment runs from August 18, 2026, through June 8, 2027.

In this position, you’ll guide a self-contained special day class (SDC) of 9-10 students, with a manageable caseload capped at 14. You will have the opportunity to focus on each student’s individual strengths and needs, conducting approximately 9-10 IEPs throughout the school year, starting mid-September. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, with early release for students on Fridays. While IEP meetings are typically scheduled within your workday, there is flexibility for extended times should the need arise.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Must hold an active Mild/Moderate California teaching credential in Special Education
• Previous experience teaching elementary special education classes preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, compliance, and individualized instruction
• Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction in a supportive classroom
• Complete and facilitate IEPs, collaborating with families and support staff
• Monitor, document, and report on student progress
• Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet diverse needs
