Step into a pivotal role shaping young minds as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in a welcoming Texas community near Round Rock. This contract opportunity centers on making a real difference in an elementary Life Skills classroom for either grades K-2 or 3-5, supporting students with diverse learning needs.

In this position, you’ll lead a classroom of 15 students alongside 3-4 dedicated paraprofessionals, implementing engaging lessons and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment. Your expertise will be essential in guiding students with autism and various other disabilities, empowering them to reach their individual goals.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility)
• Proven experience working with students who have autism or other disabilities, especially in elementary settings
• Comprehensive understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Skill in managing, mentoring, or supervising paraprofessional staff
• Strong communication abilities to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support teams
• Patience, creativity, and adaptability in approaching individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each child
• Collect, maintain, and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction
• Deliver effective instruction in academics, social skills, and life skills
• Supervise and guide paraprofessionals, fostering a positive team atmosphere
• Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that celebrates every child’s strengths
• Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive support
