Job Title: Production Planner

Job Description

The Production Planner coordinates high-volume, high-mix manufacturing activities by developing and maintaining effective production plans and schedules. This role works closely with operations leadership and uses Excel-based tools to ensure that manufacturing processes run efficiently, meet customer demand, and optimize the use of resources.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop and maintain detailed production plans and schedules for a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Create, update, and manage production schedules using Excel to align capacity, materials, and labor with demand.
• Monitor production progress against the plan and adjust schedules as needed to address changes in priorities, capacity constraints, or unexpected issues.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure timely execution of production activities and adherence to schedules.
• Analyze production data and schedule performance using Excel to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate schedule changes and priorities clearly to relevant stakeholders to support on-time delivery.
• Support continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes to enhance efficiency and reduce delays.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in production planning and production scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in Excel for creating, managing, and analyzing production schedules and related data.
• Solid understanding of high-volume, high-mix manufacturing operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations leadership and production teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to convey schedule requirements and changes clearly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Worked in a manufacturing setting, preferably related to production planning or scheduling.
• Experience in manufacturing environments producing commercial or custom products.
• Ability to analyze production data and contribute to process improvements.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility specializing in the production of commercial cabinets. You will work closely with operations and production teams on the shop floor and in an office setting, using Excel and other standard office tools. The environment is fast-paced and focused on meeting production deadlines while maintaining quality. Dress code typically aligns with a manufacturing setting, emphasizing safety and practicality, especially when present on the production floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
