Research Associate – Thought Leadership – New York Join Oxford Economics as a Research Associate in our Thought Leadership team, based in New York City. Description: Oxford Economics, a leading economic forecasting and consulting firm, seeks a Research Associate (Finance practice) to assist in creating quantitative research, well‑written publications, and compelling presentations. The candidate should have a keen interest in quantitative and qualitative data, be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and be able to collaborate with data suppliers, editors, and global colleagues. Key Responsibilities Assist project managers with desk research ensuring accuracy, currency, and comprehensiveness of published reports. Help draft surveys for sponsored research projects. Review and quality‑assure primary research data (e.g., survey responses). Contribute to survey analysis to develop data insights. Assist in building charts, graphs, dashboards, and data visualizations. Assist editors in checking quotes, facts, and data in reports. Respond to client data queries, carrying out investigations as required. Work with survey suppliers from specifying requirements to data delivery. Manage survey fieldwork, including progress updates and final deliverables. Specify project data presentation and analysis requirements with team members. Manage supplier performance, escalating issues as required. Manage project and supplier documentation, including proposals, contracts, data files, and client deliverables. Coordinate Thought Leadership projects with external contributors (e.g., expert interviews). Upload relevant materials to the corporate website. Maintain proper project time recording and accurate financial records. Performance Measures Quality of analysis, presentation, and other deliverables. Completion of assignments on time and to required quality. Accuracy and reliability of documentation and record keeping. Feedback from the Thought Leadership team and clients. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Education and Training 0–1 years of professional experience (excluding internships). Bachelor's degree. Awareness and interest in business, economic, and social trends. Highly numerate, with research and data‑analysis experience an advantage. Skills Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data manipulation and analysis. Strong writing ability; presenting convincing arguments based on evidence. Copy‑editing and proofreading skills. Strong organisational and administrative skills; experience with supplier and project administration an advantage. Personal Attributes Detail‑oriented and conscientious. Self‑starter with a can‑do attitude. Ability to hit deadlines and finish assignments quickly. Flexible, can react quickly to changing requirements. Able to take direction.
