Description

Wheeler Machinery is looking for a Rental Sales Rep, in Salt Lake County, Utah, who is highly motivated with experience selling and renting equipment to commercial, residential, and industrial trades. This is a field-based position that requires regular jobsite visits throughout the assigned territory.

A salesperson for Wheeler Machinery is actively engaged with our customers, providing them with world-class customer service and the highest quality products in the marketplace. This is a field-based role: regular jobsite visits are a core expectation of the position and the primary way our salespeople understand customer applications, uncover equipment needs and protect the customer relationship. The salesperson is also responsible for growing and maintaining customer relationships within an assigned account list and territory to achieve sales volume, market share and profitability targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and value as partners in their business.

• Conduct regular jobsite visits throughout the assigned territory to identify equipment needs, confirm machine performance and application fit, and resolve customer issues on site.

• Spend the majority of each workweek in the field — on active jobsites, in customer yards and at customer offices — rather than in the branch, making consistent face-to-face calls on assigned and prospective accounts.

• Conduct high level consultative meetings to demonstrate the value behind Wheeler Machinery’s product offerings versus the competition.

• Maintain professional internal and external relationships that exceed company values.

• Learn and implement a complete understanding of the products and services we provide to be a consultative partner in our customers’ business.

• Lead and execute all aspects of the sales process while calling upon other company resources and departments to assist when needed.

• Follow all Wheeler Machinery and customer jobsite safety requirements, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), on every site visit.

• Document jobsite visits, customer contacts, quotes and opportunities in CRM accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related industry experience.

• Minimum 5 years of industry related experience.

• Ability to perform frequent jobsite visits, including walking active construction sites over uneven terrain and in varying weather conditions.

• Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards, and the ability to travel daily within the assigned territory.

• Knowledge of and willingness to learn Wheeler Machinery product offerings, construction industry practices and other competencies necessary for consulting with customers on their needs.

• Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills.

• Self-starter, motivated and results driven.

• Dedication to providing the highest level of customer service.

• Ability to handle and resolve objections and problems amicably.

• General computing skills including Word, Excel, Outlook as well as the ability to utilize CRM for managing customer visits, generating quotes and processing data.

• Experience in successfully mentoring and leading others toward accomplishing a common goal.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
