JOB SUMMARY

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The employee may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time. Responsible for providing therapy services consistent with licensure to clients including evaluation of patient, establishing plan of care, implementing treatment, directing and educating patient and/or caregiver and documentation of the above. Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable. Communicate with other health care providers regarding client care and treatment plans. Provide training and education for hospital staff as requested. Complete patient documentation in a timely manner to meet regulatory and organizational requirements. Attend continuing education programs and present findings to appropriate staff as applicable. Review and complete all insurance authorization requirements for patients in a timely manner. Assist with performance improvement for rehab department and hospital. Understand use and precautions of any treatments and equipment used. Positively contributes to the departmental financial performance/productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited OT program.

Experience: No experience necessary. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure: Virginia State Occupational Therapy license or Compact Privilege.

• Performs daily administrative/office activities to ensure efficient flow of care within team.
• Technical Competency: Demonstrates technical competencies and job knowledge as it pertains to rehabilitative care.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge of clinical therapy practice by identifying continuing education needs and participating in educational opportunities.
• Provides orientation and guidance to new rehabilitation staff in work area as requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Demand Code: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment. • Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed: Yes The base compensation range for this role is $38.80 - $58.90 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
