About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a Controller background to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full finance leadership stack, including month/quarter/year close, financial statements, regulatory reporting, and accounting policy. This role also involves budgeting, forecasting, and providing ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making, as well as day-to-day accounting oversight across various functions. The CFO will work closely with the operations and project management teams on project finance, and will be in charge of the full audit slate, tax filings, and regulatory work. Continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes is a key focus, along with hiring, developing, and managing the accounting team. Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in construction accounting, with a strong preference for those who have held a Controller position. A BA/BS in accounting or finance is required, and a CPA is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have deep fluency in general contractor finance mechanics, be comfortable with building and tightening controls, and have a strong systems orientation. Experience with Sage 300 is a plus, and advanced Excel skills are expected. The role demands a proven leader with a clear communication style, natural business partnering abilities, sharp analytical instincts, and a focus on operational excellence.
