Computer Numerical Control Programmer

Job Description

What You Will Do

• Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for Swiss-style lathes (e.g., Star, Mazak, Integrex)
• Understand and apply G-codes, feed rates, speeds, offsets, and tool geometry
• Select appropriate tooling (drills, end mills, reamers, inserts) and optimize cutting strategies
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches using advanced shop math
• Establish machining processes to maintain tolerances up to ±0.0001 inch
• Troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times and efficiency
• Support setup teams with program validation and first-run success
• Diagnose machining defects such as poor surface finish, burrs, or tolerance deviations

• Ensure accurate, efficient, and repeatable CNC programs
• Drive process improvements and reduce scrap/rework
• Act as a technical resource for machining strategy and troubleshooting

Qualifications – What You Bring

• Experience programming Swiss-style CNC lathes (Star preferred, Mazak/Integrex a plus)
• Strong understanding of CNC programming fundamentals (G-code, feeds/speeds, offsets)
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
• Experience working with various materials and alloys
• Knowledge of machining mathematics and precision manufacturing principles
