Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS. Weekly scheduled hours: 40. FLSA Status: Exempt from FLSA. Earliest start date: Immediately. Position duration: Expected to continue. Position Overview In collaboration with supervising physicians, provides for the expansion of individualized healthcare services by diagnosing and treating vascular conditions. Responsible for outpatient, pre‑operative, and post‑operative management of vascular surgery patients. Responsibilities Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies; performs health assessments and screening. Identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops plan of care, and initiates appropriate interventions; promptly responds to patient questions/issues as triaged by clinical staff and assists with emergencies as needed. Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources, including administering medications according to the formulary protocol or upon patient‑specific approval from the supervising physician. Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning health conditions, treatment options and community resources. Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Participates in orientation and education of staff and students. Collaborates with interprofessional team members to manage/coordinate patient care for both inpatient and outpatient treatment. Fosters identification and implementation of innovative solutions to improve patient care or department operations. Integrates and contributes to professional practice standards, policies, procedures, protocols and leads improvements in patient safety‑related processes. Performs other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree and Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority, credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or the Texas Medical Board. Experience in caring for adults with vascular disease preferred. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast‑paced environment with minimal guidance. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations. Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi‑disciplinary healthcare delivery team. Capacity to work with trainees, including medical students and surgical residents. Highly proficient in hospital and clinic EMR documentation and Microsoft Office applications. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in vascular surgical first assisting and patient management. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast‑paced environment with minimal guidance. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations. Capacity to work well with supervising and consulting physicians and other care providers as part of a multi‑disciplinary healthcare delivery team. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Salary $125,000+ depending on qualifications.
