Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Trophy Club, TX Join our team at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Trophy Club, TX, and deliver exceptional care in the PACU department. Registered Nurse, PACU Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, Supervisor, and Director, the nurse implements the nursing care plan, assimilates the patient’s hospital record, and implements all physician orders. The nurse provides continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, continually evaluates patient condition, and ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy. The nurse may also assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation, nerve blocks, and sterile technique, and respond to emergency situations as needed. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred. Current Texas RN License. BLS; must obtain ACLS and PALS within 30 days of hire. Minimum two (2) years of experience as an RN in a critical care department or post‑anesthesia care unit. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Assess patient psychosocial, educational, and physical needs and address them appropriately across age groups. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational habits. Adapt quickly to change with knowledge of surgical procedures and surgical patient management. Prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs. Understand principles of aseptic technique. Excellent teaching skills. Experience with electronic health records. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Perform direct patient care within scope of RN practice and hospital policies. Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on individual patient needs and physician orders. Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies. Identify educational needs, implement and evaluate learning, and document patient/family education. Manage acute and chronic pain, especially post‑procedure and surgical patients, to alleviate suffering and improve healing. Administer medications based on assessment, safety, and patient response. Respond to patients presenting to hospital with health needs and perform mental status examinations following policies and procedures for follow‑up.
