Cayuga Health's commitment to our employees includes competitive compensation, comprehensive employee benefits programs, and the opportunity to explore and build a career in healthcare through our many professional development programs.A Lab Courier is responsible for delivering supplies and retrieving specimens from Outside offices, nursing homes and any other outreach business for Cayuga Medical Center Laboratory.Roles and Responsibilities:Performs specimen pick-ups and deliveries as requiredFollows courier scheduleKeeps courier cars clean and presentable at all times*Maintains and makes sure all supplies are delivered to correct offices and PSC'sMaintains universal precautions and infection control techniques as appropriateUses the MCE device properly and makes sure all dispatches are acknowledged during the dayReports any repairs or needs for the vehicle to the supervisor or manager*Follows all New York State traffic laws and the facilities SOP for courier vehiclesRegularly utilizes Outlook to maintain current information and continuing education that must be accomplishedIs flexible and willing to make changes for the benefit of the teamRequired Skills and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentMust be 21 years of age or olderValid NYS driver's license with clean driving recordPreferred Skills and Experience:Previous driving experience preferredStrong customer service skillsPhysical Requirements:Repetitive use of hands (MCE device)Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and carry suppliesAble to walk and sit for long periods of timeLocation and Travel Requirements:Onsite at 101 Dates Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850 - Position Based Out of Cayuga Medical Center Shift: Per Diem - As scheduledRegular local area travel can be expected in this rolePay Range Disclosure:Standard Rate of $17.00 to $20.00 per hourCayuga Health System and its affiliates are committed to treating all patients, providers, staff and volunteers equitably and with dignity, ensuring the highest levels of safety, care and respect, and striving to recognize and overcome biases and policies that contribute to disparities in healthcare access, equitable care and positive health outcomes for all.
