Senior Auditor

Working Arrangement: Hybrid - 4 days in office / Fridays remote About the Opportunity AJ Chambers is working with a growing public accounting firm in Dallas that is looking to add an experienced Audit Senior to its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an audit professional who wants to take greater ownership of engagements, work closely with clients and senior leadership, and continue progressing within a growing practice. The role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio, including public companies and growth-stage businesses , alongside the opportunity to develop experience across SEC reporting, SOX and more complex audit and accounting matters. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute audit engagements from initial planning through to completion. Take ownership of key audit areas, workpapers and financial statement disclosures. Act as a primary day-to-day contact for clients throughout engagements. Identify, research and help resolve technical accounting and audit matters. Review work completed by junior team members and provide constructive feedback. Supervise, mentor and support the development of staff accountants. Work closely with Managers and Partners to ensure engagements are delivered accurately and efficiently. Manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines during busy periods. What We're Looking For Approximately 2-4+ years of external audit experience within public accounting/professional services . Bachelor's degree required, ideally within Accounting or a related discipline. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards . CPA qualification or active progress towards the CPA is highly desirable. Exposure to SEC reporting, SOX or public-company audits would be advantageous. Experience taking ownership of audit engagements or significant sections of engagements. Strong client-facing and communication skills. Ability to mentor and support junior members of an audit team.
