Role Overview
The Loss Control Consultant serves as a strategic advisor to Lockton clients, consulting on business exposures that impact the total cost of risk across diverse industries. The Lockton Risk Control Department is committed to being a seamless, value-driven risk control practice that partners with clients to improve operations, enhance financial results, and optimize their overall risk financing strategy—not simply reducing risk, but maximizing the value and effectiveness of their insurance programs.
Our consultants leverage industry expertise, advanced analytics, and data-driven insights to align with client strategic goals and create lasting partnerships. We combine quantitative data analytics, qualitative assessment, and AI-powered risk evaluation tools to provide comprehensive consulting that reduces operational risks, protects human capital, and minimizes total cost of risk while positioning clients for long-term resilience.
Role Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership & Risk Assessment — Partner with clients to identify and evaluate business exposures affecting total cost of risk; serve as a trusted advisor in optimizing risk financing strategies and insurance program value.
- Proactive Risk Evaluation — Leverage AI-powered tools and technology platforms to conduct proactive risk evaluations, identify emerging exposures, and provide data-driven insights that anticipate risks before they become losses.

- Loss Prevention & Risk Analysis — Provide clients and prospects with loss prevention recommendations and risk analysis designed to positively impact loss ratios and premium levels; make evidence-based recommendations for remedying hazardous conditions and potential losses.
- Hazard Identification & Compliance — Survey client locations, equipment, operations, and safety practices; identify potential hazards and underwriting risks; ensure recommendations align with applicable codes and standards (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NIOSH).
- Communication & Reporting — Communicate findings, safety information, and hazard prevention guidance to clients and internal teams; distribute loss control materials and maintain clear documentation of assessments and recommendations.
- Business Development Support — Assist Producers in identifying and retaining business through the creation and presentation of value-added loss control services; demonstrate ROI and competitive advantage of Lockton's risk control offerings.
