TELECOM FIELD TECHNICIAN Department: Field Services Reports To: Field Supervisor Position Summary The Telecom Field Technician will be based out of our Texas market and will be responsible for providing on‑site client installation, repairs, and maintenance of their equipment. This position requires the individual to be prompt and reliable, have superior support skills and excellent communication, and a demonstrated history of achieving high levels of client satisfaction. Currently hiring 1 open position. Responsibilities Responsible for all network field activity on Vero Broadband network. Install and test new customer services in residential or business locations. Fiber splicing. Troubleshoot and resolve network outages and issues. Perform job responsibilities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather). Climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet. Read and interpret network diagrams and/or detailed instructions. Operate a company vehicle in accordance with safe driving practices. Work with engineering, technical support, and service delivery to complete installations and service calls. Provide excellent customer service. Core Competencies Required: Safety and Security, Quality of Work, Results‑Orientation. Required Qualifications Experience with installing and handling various fiber optic cable types including single mode and multimode. Willingness to work in confined spaces, if necessary. Keen attention to detail and adherence to established standards. Powerful sense of accountability for safety, quality, and productivity. Availability to work flexible long hours based on project requirements. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry a ladder. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of fiber optic and Cat6 cable installation. Experience configuring wireless equipment such as Ubiquiti, Cambium, and Nokia. Job Details and Physical Requirements Extensive travel to various locations; schedule may be variable and include short, long, or extended trips. A company vehicle is provided. Authorized to work in the United States. Must pass a background check and MVR screen. Nonexempt, full‑time staff position. Located in the Texas markets. Variable schedule requiring night or weekend availability as needed. Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. Stand, walk, climb on uneven surfaces and ladders for extended periods. Lift and carry heavy equipment or materials, up to 50 lbs. Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and telehandlers. Wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel‑toed boots. Crouch and stand in narrow spaces to operate machinery.
