Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience and a seasoned traveler background.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Patient ratios of 1:25 on weekdays and 1:45 on weekends
• No floating expected to other units
• Every other weekend required to meet department needs
• May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, pending license accepted if active by start date
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care Case Management/Discharge Planning experience required
• Hospital experience required; behavioral health experience does not qualify
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, including charge RNs or leads accepted
• Full SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include admission criteria review, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, DME ordering, plan of care development, and prior authorizations
• Involves regulatory compliance with CMS, Department of Health, DRG, and The Joint Commission standards
• Business attire or scrubs accepted
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
