We are seeking an ASL interpreter to join our team for the 26-27 school year in the Summerville, SC area! In this role, you will engage with students and passionate teammates in a school district setting.
- Role: Full time
- Pay: $35-$43/hour
- Start ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional interpretation to a kindergarten student in school building
- Participate in meetings with colleagues and family members related to the student's education
- Work collaboratively with professionals in many other disciplines
Requirements:
- High school diploma is required
- Must provide proof of the completion of a minimum of 60 college credit hours, OR in lieu of this, must pass the Para Professional Exam or the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test
- National certification or Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 and successful completion of the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment: Written Assessment
- Submitted a sworn statement confirming they have read, understand, and agree to abide by the EIPA Code of Professional Conduct for Educational Interpreters; and
- Registered with the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR).
- Fluency in English and American Sign Language (ASL)
Adherence to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment Codes of Professional Conduct
