OPO Training Specialist

Responsibilities Develop, deliver, and manage comprehensive organ procurement and recovery clinical training programs in accordance with LAORA’s P&P and regulatory requirements. Develop and administer clinical training courses, content, and competencies focused on organ procurement and recovery in line with OPTN and LAORA policies. Establish curricula covering procedures, blended learning, on-the-job training, and third‑party training. Orient new employees to their roles by providing training and assessing growth, development, and initial competency. Develop training content and document all training processes. Establish competency assessments including quizzes, direct observation with checklists, and other assessment tools to evaluate learning and readiness. Participate actively in the QAPI program and identify opportunities to improve performance. Monitor and improve the effectiveness of the training program, including using the learning management system to track compliance and maintain records. Impart orientation and community education seminars to hospitals and stakeholders as needed. Perform aspects of the donation process during high activity periods, short staffing, or as needed. Carry out other duties as assigned while adhering to university and unit-level policies and safeguarding university assets.
