Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Ctr Department: Ultrasound Req #: 0000248379 Status: Hourly Shift: Evening Pay Range: $59.65 - $59.65 per hour The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview Sonographers provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services. Qualifications Required: Graduate of accredited school of sonography Preferred: Certified by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registry eligible Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions) Per Diem Evening Essential Functions Prepares & sends specimens to labs in the absence of the secretary. Prepares exam rooms before patient enters & cleans room following patient's exit. Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table & instructing them in the procedure that is being performed. Selects & records appropriate images for the permanent. The sonographer is competent in the production & analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis & treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion & judgement in the performance of sonographic services.
