Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Performing thorough patient evaluations, selecting appropriate diagnostic tests, and designing tailored care strategies
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions, collaborating with physicians or working independently (per your credentials)
- Providing education to patients and families on prevention strategies, wellness practices, and effective disease management
- Prescribing treatments and medications appropriate to your practice scope
- Taking part in chronic care management and follow-up for patients
- Working cohesively within interdisciplinary groups to ensure comprehensive, integrated care
- Maintaining meticulous and precise documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Prerequisites
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Required Credentials
- Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in Texas
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain within 90 days)
