Children's Waiting Room Attendant

Children's Waiting Room Supervisor

Provide supervision to children (ages 12 months to 12 years old) whose parent/sibling(s) have medical appointments at the Steven A. Cohen Clinic. Operating hours for the Children's Waiting Room are Monday through Friday from 0900 to 0500.

Program and Services Management:

• Provide a variety of activities for toddlers to 12 years old
• Model exemplary behavior for parents and volunteers
• Interact with children and provides a nurturing environment
• Communicate to Programs Manager and POC at Hospital any issues or concerns in CWR
• Follow all Child Abuse Reporting procedures when necessary
• Supervise all Volunteers
• Ensure that all CWR policies are followed

Facility Management:

• Opens and closes the center
• Maintains safe and clean childwatch area
• Ensures new parents fill out proper registration forms and provides required documents
• Ensures each parent signs child in and out
• Maintains registration files and parent information up to date
• Ensures all records are kept locked in filing cabinet when not in use
• Reports unsafe conditions to the Executive Director
• Provides parent and Programs Manager with written accident report involving any child
• Cleans all toys with Lysol Wipes or spray upon closing of center

Equipment Management:

• Keep toys and equipment clean and sanitary and in good working condition
• Inform Programs Manager about needed supplies

Qualifications: Work experience with children. An understanding of military family challenges. Experience preparing and developing age-appropriate activities. Reliable transportation is required for this position.

Post-Hire Requirements (Must be completed before first day on the job):

• CPR, First Aid and KIT Training (Online training to be determined by Executive Director)
• Background Check
