Trademark Attorney

We are seeking a talented Trademark Attorney for a direct hire opportunity. Salary: $145 - $165k, full benefits, M-F 1st shift Key Responsibilities: Build and nurture new client relationships. Oversee both new and existing client relationships. Perform preliminary (SAEGIS) and comprehensive trademark availability searches using U.S. and international databases and third-party vendors. Prepare and prosecute U.S. trademark applications, statements of use, notices of allowance, renewals, descriptions of goods and services, specimens, transfers and assignments, and responses to office actions. Handle international trademark prosecution through the Madrid Protocol, Paris Convention, and correspondence with foreign associates and trademark offices including WIPO. Manage brand protection efforts, including reviewing trademark watch notices and the USPTO Official Gazette, researching potential infringements, drafting protest letters, and monitoring follow-up and closure. Requirements: Law degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years as a practicing attorney. 5‑10 years of relevant experience. A portable book of business worth at least $350,000. Licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia or Michigan, and admitted to the USPTO. High intellectual capacity with a quick understanding of complex legal issues, demonstrated through relevant work experience. Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to task completion. Proven commitment to working hard in a fast‑paced setting.
