We are looking to hire an Education Platforms Coordinator  immediately in a hybrid (50/50) capacity at our FONA Office at 1900 Averill Rd, Geneva, IL.

The Education Platforms Coordinator (entry level role) provides administrative and logistical support for McCormick Flavor Solutions education, industry outreach, public relations, and community education initiatives. This role supports the execution of Flavor University customer education programs, speakers bureau engagements, PR submissions, classes, webinars, podcasts, and community programming. The Coordinator manages scheduling, registrations, speaker coordination, presentation materials, marketing assets, communications, and event logistics to enable high-quality experiences for customers, external partners, subject-matter experts, and community participants.

The role is a part of Global Marketing and partners closely with technical experts, commercial teams, Corporate Communications, and external vendors to ensure programs are organized, on-brand, and executed efficiently. This role requires a passion for food science education, community outreach, and relationship building within a dynamic industry. This role requires developing deep relationships and collaboration with commercial and technical teams as well as industry and community partners. Domestic travel to customer education events required, 15-20% travel per year.

Flavor University Support

• Coordinate administrative and logistical activities for in-person, virtual, and hybrid Flavor University programs.
• Manage program calendars, meeting schedules, registration processes, attendee communications, confirmations, and post-event follow-up.
• Coordinate event logistics, including room reservations, catering, materials, printing materials, equipment, shipping, hospitality, tasting demos, and vendor communications.
• Prepare and maintain participant lists, registration reports, evaluation materials, and program documentation.
• Support the preparation, organization, and distribution of course materials, presentation files, participant materials, and related digital assets.
• Coordinate and direct technical team efforts on preparing tasting demos

• Maintains and builds crucial working relationships cross-functionally (including with scientists, lab personnel, regulatory, sales, facilities, etc.)
• Biannual inventory tracking & purchases (tablecloths, napkins, tasting cups, etc.)

• On-hand for all live Flavor University events for hospitality & logistics. Travels to and supports Flavor University regional classes. At regional courses serves as on-site facilitator, decision maker and problem-solver.
• Support podcast & webinar execution by helping to schedule, track results & review materials.

Industry Outreach

• Support industry outreach initiatives including speakers bureau, industry outreach and PR submissions.
• With Senior Manager of Education Platforms, help direct agency efforts in support industry outreach.
• Coordinate speaker requests, calendars, briefing meetings, travel logistics, presentation deadlines, and follow-up for industry speaking engagements.
• Work with agency partners to maintain a centralized tracker of speaker opportunities, submissions, approvals, speakers, presentation status, opportunities, and event outcomes.
• Support subject-matter experts with presentation coordination, approved marketing assets, speaker biographies, and event requirements.
• Traffic approvals of submissions and speaking opportunities as needed internally.

Community Education

• Provide logistical and administrative support for community education programming and external education partnerships.
• Coordinate schedules, registration, materials, volunteer or speaker participation, event communications, and attendee needs.
• Support relationship management with community partners by preparing communications, meeting materials, and program documentation.
• Assist with on-site event coordination as needed, including participant check-in, materials setup, and issue resolution.
• Track participation, feedback, and program activity to support reporting and continuous improvement.

Qualifitications 

• Bachelor’s in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Education or related field
• 1-2 years in food or flavor industry and/or in event planning or education programming
• Proven strength in organizational, prioritization, and project coordination skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with cross-functional partners, external vendors, and subject-matter experts.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer-service mindset and commitment to a positive participant experience.
• Proficiency In PowerPoint as well as other Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
• Ability to manage confidential or sensitive event, attendee, and partner information appropriately
• Domestic travel to customer education events required, 15-20% travel per year.
