Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology

St. Anthony Hospital is seeking a Gastroenterologist for urgent coverage starting on 05/28/2026. The assignment involves inpatient procedures such as ERCP, EUS, and endoscopy, with a focus on managing GI bleed and evaluating GI problems. This position requires experience with EPIC electronic medical records and involves performing approximately 5-8 scopes per day. The provider will participate in a 24/7 call schedule, including on-call duties during holidays, with ongoing coverage needs into 2026. Shifts generally end at 7 a.m., with 5-7 days per month of service anticipated. The setting is Level 1 Trauma with a patient population including adults and adolescents (minimum age 15) in a hospital that supports adult and geriatric patients.

Schedule/Availability:

• 24-hour call from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.
• 5-7 days per month, ongoing into 2025 and beyond
• Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Pay Rate: To be negotiated
• Malpractice insurance included in rates
• Orientation reimbursement: $262.50 - $275 (half the hourly/callback rate after 8 hours)
• On Call (Daily): $5,200 - $5,600 per 24 hours, including 8 hours gratis
• 24 Hour Holiday Call Rate: $7,800 - $8,400 per 24 hours, including 8 hours gratis
• Call Back (per patient contact hour): $525 - $550 (after gratis hours, prorated according to MSA)
• Holiday Call Back: $787.50 - $825 per holiday contact hour

Credentials/Training:

• Full credentialing (pre-application and application) required with a timeframe of 60-90 days; emergency privileges granted within 1-2 weeks with a clean file
• Must complete EMR training and modules prior to first day
• Providers must submit a recent photo, Epic experience details, and contact information for scheduling and credentialing purposes

Travel & Lodging:

• Candidates must be willing to stay at one of the preferred hotels, requesting negotiated rates during booking
• Travel by local drive highly preferred, but not mandatory
• Candidates should specify their travel origin and any travel restrictions or special accommodations needed

Additional Details:

• Patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and adolescents over 15 years old
• No admission rights—service functions as a consult
• Located in a hospital with 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services
