The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Under the leadership of the Senior Executive Director and in partnership with the Strategic Framework Backbone Organization, the Student Well-Being Program Specialist will assist with the oversight and management of Columbia University’s Strategic Framework for Student Well-Being (Framework). The Framework is grounded in a collective impact approach and brings together people and resources across Columbia University to reduce barriers, align efforts while ensuring long-term sustainability, and create conditions in which students can thrive. The Student Well-Being Program Specialist will assist in the project management of the Framework and serve on the Backbone Organization. The incumbent will assist with the implementation and evaluation of the strategic and operational goals of the Framework, plan and manage projects, facilitate meetings and conversations about the work of the Framework, assist with assessment and evaluation initiatives, present about the work of the Framework to student, staff, faculty, and other members of the community, and build and sustain relationships across the University. This is an essential on-site role. Some hybrid work options may be considered. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Responsibilities Project Planning, Implementation, & Evaluation (50%) Work in partnership with the Backbone Committee to manage the collective impact approach of the Framework including the performance, successful execution, and ongoing evaluation of multiple moderate to complex concurrent projects. Work with the Steering Committee and Backbone Committee to coordinate the shared Common Agenda including an understanding of what it means to be a health and well-being promoting campus. Provide direct support to the Steering Committee, Working Group, and Backbone Committee by preparing meeting materials and facilitating meetings. Attend all Steering Committee, Working Group, and Backbone Committee meetings. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and status reports of Framework initiatives. Work with Working Group Co‑Leads to manage the delivery and maintenance of short and long‑term key project initiatives. Work with the Backbone Committee to assign individual responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of project(s). Manage expenditures and budget, in collaboration with the Backbone Committee. Communication & Relationship Building (25%) Build and continually maintain working relationships with Steering Committee, Working Group, and Backbone Committee members and other stakeholders. Collaborate with the Communications team to strategically communicate to a multitude of stakeholders, using the appropriate medium(s) at the appropriate time to elicit feedback, share information, and construct messaging that will have the maximum impact on project goals. Provide regular reports on progress towards goals and indicators to the Steering Committee and other stakeholders, in partnership with the Backbone Committee and Working Groups; Create reports tailored to different audiences. Assist in the development and facilitation of presentations to a range of audiences regarding the Framework and collective impact. Supervise student employees and volunteers. Assessment and Evaluation (20%) Analyze existing and new qualitative and quantitative data, to identify gaps, trends, and strengths on campus. Design, facilitate, and implement a variety of assessment and evaluation activities. Conduct benchmarking studies and best practice reviews. Use supporting research, assessment, and evaluation data; benchmarking; and other metrics to inform progress, outcomes, and decision-making. Perform other duties as assigned (5%) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 3+ years of closely related experience. Demonstrated ability in project management. Demonstrated ability to set priorities, effectively manage multiple and simultaneous projects efficiently. Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations. Demonstrated computer proficiency (e.g. Microsoft suite, virtual meeting platforms). Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including a high level of attention to detail and active listening skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment. Demonstrated presentation and group facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability with collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting a variety of data. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or advanced degree in public health, health promotion, education, humanities, or other closely related fields. Knowledge and experience working with a Collective Impact framework. Experience in large scale project management. Strong data, assessment, and research skills. Experience working with college students and a strong interest in higher education.
