Pastry Cook

Position Summary  

The Pastry Cook is responsible for working within the pastry team in the preparation, production, and presentation of all pastry, dessert, and bread items while upholding the restaurant’s standards of quality, consistency, and hospitality. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced kitchen environment.  

The Pastry Cook plays an important role in executing service with precision while contributing to a collaborative, professional, and excellence-driven kitchen culture.  

Reports To :  Pastry Chef  

Core Responsibilities  

• Prepare mise-en-place, assemble, and plate pastry and dessert items according to recipes and kitchen standards.  
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all pastry station items, ingredients, and menu offerings.  
• Set up and organize pastry stations in a timely and efficient manner before service.  
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, tables, and storage areas throughout service.  
• Uphold all Department of Health, food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times.  

Service & Guest Experience 

• Contribute to a high-quality guest experience through consistent preparation, presentation, and execution of pastry and dessert items.  
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, urgency, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment.  
• Work collaboratively with the pastry and culinary teams to maintain smooth operations and efficient service flow.  
• Show a strong commitment to learning, growth, hospitality, and culinary excellence

Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of restaurant pastry/bakery experience  
• Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.  
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work cleanly and efficiently.  
• Ability to read, follow, and execute recipes accurately.  
• Strong understanding of cooking techniques, and kitchen procedures.  
• Ability to work successfully within a team-oriented environment.  
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours), and to crouch, bend, and  lift  or move 25+ lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation  

Salary: $20 per hour
