Entry Level Transportation Engineer

We're looking for an early‑career Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Department in Hartford, CT, and get real experience across a variety of roadway and traffic design projects – not just supporting work, but actual design contributions from the start. Over six months, you'll build professional development, business acumen, and project delivery skills through real case studies, simulations, and role‑play – not passive lectures – culminating in an in‑person capstone event where you'll present your work and map out your goals for the year ahead. Your Future Starts With A Plan. What You'll Do Conduct traffic analysis and forecasting Perform traffic impact studies Contribute to the design of highway and road layouts Conduct speed studies Help implement complete streets designs Support securing necessary permits and approvals Assist with corridor modeling Estimate costs for transportation infrastructure construction projects Provide transportation support on large, multidisciplinary civil/site projects, including: Public schools design Collegiate/secondary education facility design Rail trail/bike path design Drainage & culvert design Bridge replacement projects What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering EIT registration preferred Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Synchro is a plus Experience with construction and/or land surveying is a bonus Exposure to CTDOT standards is helpful but not required Why You'll Love Working with Us Schedule Flexibility : Customize your work schedule to fit your life. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting.
